Nissen Hut Project

We have built two reclaimed Nissen Huts to extend our display space and to add a toilet with disabled access and a new servery for refreshments.

The first hut was dedicated in April 2014 by General the Lord Richard Dannatt the retired chief of the British Army.  This has greatly greatly enhanced our display space and we also now have a spacious new toilet with disabled access available for visitors use.

The Second Nissen Hut is now completed and houses the new ‘Fu Bar’ Tea Room and further exhibition space featuring several uniforms and in particular that belonging to Tec. Sgt Earl Zimmerman, to whom this Nissen Hut is dedicated.  The dedication ceremony took place on May 14th 2017 and was made by Mr Clive Chapman of Classic Team Lotus who have been very generous sponsors of this project.
